Fans of the FOX series “Sleepy Hollow” can sleep easier tonight. FOX announced today, March 18, 2015 that “Sleepy Hollow” will be picked up for a third season on the network. A total of eighteen episodes have been ordered.
While the series premiered to strong numbers during its first season, viewership declined severely in the second. The writing staff must have been paying attention to chat rooms and fan forums, though, as the final episodes of the season featured a retooling of the show with three of the less popular characters exiting the series. There is no word, yet, on whether any or all of the characters would return.
“Sleepy Hollow” premiered on FOX September 16, 2013 and stars Nicole Beharie (Abbie Mills) and Tom Mison (Ichabod Crane.) Lyndie Greenwood (Jenny Mills) and Orlando Jones (Frank Irving) appear regularly in the series.
