Previously titled “Entanglement”, which I personally like much better, “/ ” is shaping up to be a serious installment in this season’s epic adventure. This week, Finch (Michael Emerson) and Root (Amy Acker) clash when the Machine sends them after the same person. When that happens, whose goals come first?
The person of interest is a janitor with a mysterious past. Root is assigned to seek him out, but when her very presence puts his life in danger, the Machine sends Reese (Jim Caviezel) and Finch in to back up her mission. Is Root going off the reservation in complying with her god orders? Is that what places the POI in danger? Love it when Reese asks her if the Machine will help her dodge bullets. Can’t wait to here her reply. The character is really a bit out there with her worship of Finch’s creation, but if it keeps a sociopath off the streets its good.
And when this mysterious janitor does become a target, why doesn’t the Machine back Root off and let Reese and Finch handle the issue. So far, while the Machine does seem to have its own agenda, it is very humanitarian. Finch has programmed that much of himself into junior. So far, it has not allowed Root to kill even Hersh (Boris McGiver).
Other bgi-bads return this week, which I’m guessing is the sources of the janitor’s danger, Peter Collier (Leslie Odom Jr.) of Vigilance and Greer (John Nolan) of Decima. They are in New York and have an interest in the janitor as well.
Going to be an episode, you don’t want to miss. Watch PERSON OF INTEREST on Tuesday, March 18th, 10E/9C on CBS.
